In just a few short days, when we celebrate our first official school day of 2017-2018, I will be in my twentieth year of homeschooling. I'm still letting that sink in. Twenty years. It seems like a long time, but I know moms who have been doing it for twenty-five or thirty years - or more! Although I've learned a lot about homeschooling, about my kids, and about myself over those years, I'm pretty sure I'll still be learning new things this year.

I listed a few of things I've learned as a homeschool mom for an article at The Homeschool Post - things like:

Mom knows best. I think we all know that, deep down, but so many mom decisions we make are huge responsibilities, so we sometimes doubt ourselves. But think about it - who else is more committed and invested in your child's success in life? I've learned that Mom is the best expert on her kids and what works for their education.

I've also learned to avoid comparing myself to others, that it's okay to learn as I go, that homeschooling is hard work. And most importantly, I've learned that homeschooling is one of the most rewarding and worthwhile things I could ever have been doing with my time.

Join me over at The Homeschool Post for the rest of this article about the things I've learned while homeschooling. And as always, you'll find lots of helpful articles there about all kinds of homeschool topics.

What are some the lessons you've learned while homeschooling? Leave a comment and let me know!
